When the federal government decided to get even more involved in health care, numerous promises were made about the price you would pay and the number of people who would be covered.
There was the promise that "if you like your plan you can keep your plan." Politifact later labeled it the "lie of the year." Turns out, millions of Americans lost their plan.
And remember when former President Obama said that premiums would be lowered by up to $2,500 per family, per year? That hasn't happened either.
In fact, this year, a new survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation finds premiums for employer health plans are up 7% to nearly $24,000.
There will no-doubt be additional calls for more government interference in the health care market. This will lead to higher costs and worse coverage. How do we know? We're living through yet another case study.
